Shelter to Permanent Housing: Case Management in safe Supportive Environments

St Francis House sheltered a mother and her ten year old daughter in July 2017. At that time she and her daughter were living in their car. Shelter services included three meals a day, a room, and case management.

Case management worked with the mother. She took two jobs, saved money, and moved to Arbor House when space was available.

Arbor House helped this single-parent family connect with Early Learning Coalition for childcare assistance, and access to food and clothing donations.

A support community of women, combined with case management, accelerates this family’s movement away from homelessness. Case managers’ offices are located in Arbor House.

Combined with employment, if this woman is studies nursing at Santa Fe College while a resident at AH, tuition is free.

This mother and child are among 7 families who have benefited from Arbor House to date in 2018. You can provide scholarship funding for a family either monthly or for an entire year. That way, you can insure that a mother and her children will have enough time to secure permanent housing, as well as services that will work toward keeping it.
