A mother with four children came to St Francis House shelter services in August. She was employed when she and her family arrived, and found a second job that supplemented her income working shifts on an as needed basis.
She cares for her children, who are attending school. She located an apartment, where they eventually took occupancy.
Our shelter staff take satisfaction in providing assistance for our clients. This story is ideal, and an important reminder that in many circumstances, the benefits to our clients and our community are huge. When assistance is available for people who struggle to surmount the challenges of poverty in order to stabilize their lives everyone wins.
