A housing dedication ceremony at Arbor House is a big event for case management. It celebrates permanent supported housing. I attended one recently. The family being honored were my clients for one year. They were a pleasure to work with.
The mom worked full time during their year at AH. During that time she was also actively building her home. Add to that, parenting teenage daughters.
While speaking at the ceremony, she shared how hard it was when she was homeless. Arbor House, though, helped her provide stable permanent supported housing for her family. She made it clear: she would not forget the gratitude she felt for that help when it mattered so much.
I was there when this family received keys to their new home. It was an emotional experience for everyone. From a case manager’s perspective, it was an honor to be part of this family’s journey.
